    From Jowai’s untouched waterfalls and Krem Chympe’s mystical caves to the crystal-clear Umngot River in Dawki and the ancient Double Decker Root Bridge in Cherrapunji, this journey is a blend of adventure, nature, and cultural immersion. Expect breathtaking landscapes, thrilling treks, serene boat rides, and an insight into the rich Khasi and Jaintia tribal heritage.

    Day 1

    Arrival in Guwahati – Transfer to Jowai

    Travel: 160 km | 5-6 hours
    Stay: Jowai (Homestay)

    • Arrive at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station and meet your fellow travelers.

    • Begin your scenic drive towards Jowai, passing through lush landscapes.

    • Visit Thadlaskein Lake, a serene water body with mythological significance.

    • Explore the Stone Bridge of Nartiang, a 17th-century monolith site of the Jaintia Kings.

    • Evening at leisure – stroll through Jowai town & explore local Khasi cuisine.

    Day 2

    Jowai – Exploring Krem Chympe – Transfer to Dawki

    Stay: Shnongpdeng (Riverside Camp / Nearby Stay)

    • Morning Drive to Krem Chympe: One of the longest caves in India, known for its underground river and stunning limestone formations. Enjoy an adventurous cave trek and boating inside the cave (depending on water levels).

    • Continue to Shnongpdeng: A hidden paradise on the banks of the Umngot River, famous for its crystal-clear waters.

    • Explore the riverside & relax by the Umngot River, soaking in the peaceful surroundings.

    • Overnight Stay: If the river flow allows, stay in a riverside camp; otherwise, accommodation will be arranged in a nearby homestay or guesthouse.

    Offbeat Experience: Exploring a lesser-known cave and staying in the heart of nature

     

    Day 3

    Dawki – Shnongpdeng – Transfer to Cherrapunji

    • Morning at Shnongpdeng: Wake up to the serene views of the Umngot River and enjoy a peaceful morning by the riverside.

    • Optional Boating in Umngot River: Experience a mesmerizing boat ride on the crystal-clear waters (subject to river flow and weather conditions).

    • Drive to Mawlynnong Village: Visit Asia’s cleanest village, walk along the bamboo skywalk, and get stunning views of the Bangladesh plains.

    • Visit Mawsahe Waterfall: A hidden waterfall offering a refreshing dip in natural pools.

    • Mawsmai Cave Exploration: Walk through the stunning limestone formations of Mawsmai Cave.

    • Arrive in Cherrapunji by evening: Check-in at your homestay and unwind in Meghalaya’s cool weather.

    Cherrapunji – Double Decker Living Root Bridge Trek

    • Begin an early morning trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat Village.

    • Descend 3,500 steps through dense forests, crossing hanging bridges over blue lagoons & waterfalls.

    • Marvel at the 400-year-old natural root bridge, a true engineering marvel.

    • Optional: Continue trekking to Rainbow Falls, one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in Meghalaya.

    • Return by evening and relax in the chilly weather of Cherrapunji.

    Cherrapunji – Mawphlang Sacred Forest – Transfer to Shillong

    Shillong – Umiam Lake – Transfer to Guwahati
