Places to visit?

Nathula Pass

Tracing back its origin to the ancient Silk route, Nathula pass is one of the highest motorable roads in the world and is a hotspot for the tourists visiting the state. Although one needs to take a permit from the concerned authorities in Gangtok to visit Nathula but the panoramic view of the region that Nathula offers makes up for the efforts.

Rumtek Monastery

Built atop a hill, looking over the Gangtok city, the Rumtek Monastery is one of the largest monasteries in Sikkim. It showcases a beautiful Tibetan architecture style and also houses a number of rare artifacts. Along with a picturesque view of the Gangtok city, the Rumtek Monastery engulfs the visitors with a rare sense of peace.

Tsomgo Lake

The snow from the mountains melts and forms the crystal clear water of Tsomgo lake. ZULUK

Thambi View Point

The Thambi viewpoint is a major tourist attraction around Zuluk known for its 32 zig zags turns making your head spin and heartbeat with excitement. You can also locate the famous and ancient Silk Route. Zuluk offers picturesque views of the Himalayas. It also provides the best view of the rising sun from the peak of Kanchenjunga. 

Lungthung

If you are a fan of picnic spots then Lungthung will serve your purpose. With lush green meadows and the ever attractive tea estates surrounded by serene mountains, Lungthung is the best possible getaway from your hectic city life. Lungthung is just 4 km away from Zuluk.

Kupup Lake

Ever heard about the famous elephant shape lake of Sikkim? At a height of about 14000 feet, the Kupup lake is shaped like an elephant. It offers a panoramic view of the surroundings and will definitely serve as the perfect background for your travel pictures.

LACHEN

Tso Lhamo Lake

Thangu

Lachung is one of the famous tourist destinations of Sikkim. It is a beautiful town surrounded by snow-clad mountains, lush green valleys, and gorges. Flowers blooming from every corner, green lush meadows spread like a carpet with Yaks grazing on the grass, the Yumthang Valley looks like a paradise right out of fiction. The hot springs and nearby rivers only add to the experience of Yumthang Valley. 

Chungthang

Chungthang is a small town with not so small share in the mythological legends of the state. It is believed that Guru Padmasambhava blessed this small town with his presence and locals say that there is a stone that still has his footprints. Tourists stop at Chungthang before trekking to Yumthang Valley.

SILIGURI

Siliguri, often referred to as the Gateway to Northeast India, is a metropolitan city in West Bengal. From a tourist’s perspective, Siliguri acts as a transit point owing to its close proximity to the Northeast states and a well-connected transport system. You can stopover at Siliguri to enjoy a wide variety of authentic cuisines.
